1. English Speaking Club

We started  the register our English Speaking Club in the main city hall, and then we started the english sessions every monday and friday. We are doing a lot of activities with participants like games, special tasks, singing songs, translate songs lyrics from English language to Romanian language, Speed Theme… The main goal of this Club is help to participants to improve their English speaking skills.

2. TV Show

We were invited to a TV show named “Interesul general” which was streamed on Valcea 1 Channel, the presenter was the veteran Dan Boban and he asked us about our life as  volunteers in Dragasani and also we were talking about our daily work in specific with children, environment, Romanian language immersion and about the project in general.

3. Intercultural night with new volunteers

In our host organisation FCASEC arrived new voluunteers from Spain, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Germany and France. They are all have a project “Leaving Green” in Ramnicu Valcea.

We had the opportunity to get to know them, see presentations about their countries, try national food and learn national dances during an Intercultural evening.

4. Oath ceremony in Gendarme school

Being a volunteer in another country is also an opportunity to explore the characteristics, traditions and state structure of this country.

At 10 November we visited the oath ceremony of recruits at the gendarme school in Dragashani. A lot of people came to see the ceremony on that day. The recruits sang a hymn, marched and uttered the words of the oath. Also we saw demonstration speeches of a special detachment on combating terrorism.

5. Non-formal education day

We also had some workshop about for Non-Formal Learning Day in Colegiul National Gib Mihaescu. We tried to show students what is differents between Formal, Informal and  Non-formal education. We separated students on tree groups and gave them task for to create a hat for different way: one group had a teacher who showed how make a hat, second group – has a mentor who just explain what need to do, third group should create a hat without any explanation.

6. Conference and Festival of tolerance

We did a presentation about our project at the library in Ramnicu Valcea and we were talking about our eight months of experience doing EVS, also we went there to know the news projects „Living the Green”, „More” and other veteran volunteers talked about the activities they have done and what they want to do in the future.

On that same day but in the afternoon we went to the „Festivalul Ziua Tolerantei si diversitatii”. It was a very entertaining show and we enjoyed music, poetry and traditional dance.

7. Centrul Multifuncțional

 We visited Social Center for kids in Verguleasa village to make a entertaining and funny day for them. There were around 25 kids between 10-11 years old. We prepared games, energizers, English language activities, songs and one origami workshop. Kids were so happy and gave us a lot of hugs and good vibrations.
